Artist's Comments

It is my firm belief that give an artist any sort of medium, and they will find a way to work with it (or inspite of it). My goodies (Photoshop, scanner) have been taken away, so I have to deal with what I have.

Last night, I was watching a program on PBS on Typhoid Mary, and I was inspired to do this. I wanted to try to emulate the style of turn of the century artist with their line work (mind you, I was working with a mouse and MSPaint). The subject that imediately came to mind was Lady Norbert's lovely young woman, Elizabeth. This was the second of my attempts at drawing her, because it was kinda hard for me to keep in mind, I was specifically trying to go for a look that resembles what I would do with pen and ink. I've been in a very strong willed mood lately, and haven't let much stop me. Its gotten to the point where I've started singing along ABBA songs outloud (uh oh). I only do that when I'm in that particular mood. So I say NYYYYAAAA to my other computer.

Medium: MSPaint (I converted the file format with Paint Shop Pro)

I would have filed it under Oekaki, I think, but you did a pretty good job with a limited tool. Always the mark of a diverse artist.

What is Oekaki? (yes, I've seen the category before, but I'm not sure what exactly it is)

there are no enemies
only dangerous friends

"Methusela" - Smashing Pumpkins

I dunno what the translation is, ask Hikaroo for that. But it's mouse-drawn art using low-definition programs like Paint or web-based Java Applets, AFAIK.

That's quite good. I'm a clutz when it comes to drawing on the computer. ^^; Nicely done with the drawing.

Impressive freehand work; a trend, that obviously continues throughout your portfolio. Looking forward to see more!
